Sir,

With reference to your letter No. 2873 of the 16th ultimo, I have the honour, by direction of His Excellency the Major General Commanding, to acquaint you, for the information of His Excellency the Governor, that there is no objection to furnish the information asked for respecting the expenditure incurred on the sums voted by the Colony for Fortifications. These returns will be forwarded to you immediately on completion.
